Description: The Gales Point sea turtle nesting beach, located just outside of the Gales Point Wildlife Sanctuary, has been recognized as one of the most important nesting beaches within the wider Caribbean. This undeveloped beach offers prime nesting habitat for the Hawksbill turtle, Green turtle and Loggerhead turtle each year. Our organization has participated in sporadic nest monitoring at this site over the years; however, in 2021 we were able to implement a more consistent monitoring project.
Species of focus: Hawksbills (Eretmochelys imbricata), Green turtles (Chelonia mydas), Loggerheads (Caretta caretta)
