Description: The Leatherback Project is a global conservation initiative using the leatherback sea turtle as a powerful ambassador for ocean and coastal protection. As one of the widest-ranging marine species on Earth, the leatherback connects global marine and terrestrial ecosystems, making it a powerful symbol for protecting the interconnected systems that sustain life on Earth. Strengthened by science, catalyzed by community action, and showcased through storytelling, we advocate for the recognition of the Rights of Nature, where species and ecosystems have the right to exist, persist, thrive, regenerate vital cycles, be restored, and have legal representation in court.
