Description: The RECAPTED project (RÉduction des CAPTures accidentelles pour une pêche Efficiente et Durable) has emerged, in Martinique and Guadeloupe. Financed by the FONDS VERT Martinique and Guadeloupe, it revolves around the co-construction, with voluntary sea fishermen, of innovative devices and practices, making it possible to reduce these interactions and thus initiate the development of more sustainable fishing with selective gear.
Species of focus: Olive ridleys (Lepidochelys olivacea), Green turtles (Chelonia mydas), Loggerheads (Caretta caretta), Kemp’s ridleys (Lepidochelys kempii), Leatherbacks (Dermochelys coriacea), Hawksbills (Eretmochelys imbricata)
