Description: Through education on the various ecological roles of the different species of sea turtle, we have been cooperating with artisanal fishermen since 2012 to ensure the safe release of by-catch turtles instead of them being either killed or sold to local chop bars. To date we have released over 3,000 turtles of all size and age classes.
Species of focus: Loggerheads (Caretta caretta), Leatherbacks (Dermochelys coriacea), Olive ridleys (Lepidochelys olivacea), Green turtles (Chelonia mydas), Hawksbills (Eretmochelys imbricata)
